The summer of 1954 Hazel and Alton dropped by our home on Hwy 281 and invited my sister. Mary and me to ride with them each morning the coming week to attend Vacation Bible School. My parents Ernest and Effie Cork had known the Holders for many years. They agreed we could go to VBS at Valley Grove Baptist Church with the Holders. On the last day O f VBS I realized I needed to be saved but wasn't ready to say anything till I talked to my folks. Next the Holders and their daughter, Lucretia invited me to attend summer camp. The very first service of camp I accepted Jesus as my Savior . The Holders played a huge part in my becoming a Christian. Then in 1990 my husband and I moved back to Stephenville. We needed a church and the Holders made us feel welcome. What a joy to serve in WMU with Hazel. Those 10 years we attended VGB church were some of the happiest years of my life. Hazel and Alton Holder were the picture of a Christian Couple and their lives have touched countless souls for Christ. Roy and I send our sympathy and love to Lucretia and the family and the members of Valley Grove Baptist Church. Roy and Cynthia Butler
